Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been an Greek American columnist, author and entrepreneur for more than twenty years. She co-founded The Huffington Post, is the CEO and founder of Thrive Global as well an writer of 15 novels. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, television personality, philanthropist and also the proprietor and editor of The Huffington Post. Originating from Greece Arianna Huffington emigrated to England together with her family around the age of 16. At Cambridge University she earned a MA Degree in Economics. First foreign-born graduate to serve as president in the prestigious debate club The Cambridge Union, at age 21 she took over the presidency. She became a conservative syndicated writer after the graduation ceremony and, when The Huffington Post launched a couple of years following, she launched an online platform for voice that offered criticisms on the political landscape. Her fame and popularity helped by attracting a variety of high-profile contributors to share their opinions on politics news and culture. Arianna's fame began in 2003, when she was a candidate for an independent for the California recall election to succeed then-Governor Davis. Additionally she also led the Detroit Project for fuel-efficient cars. Forbes placed her at 12 on its list for the Most Influential Media Women. Guardian also included the Huffington Post in their top 100 list in the year 2010. AOL bought The Huffington Post from AOL in the year 2011. Then she was appointed the president of the AOL media group. The group included several AOL-owned brands, including Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. She was the daughter of journalist and manager Konstantinos and his wife Elli Stasinopoulos. Although she had a close friendship with both her father and mother but it was their connection that shaped her. At an early age, she showed leadership abilities that are still highly regarded. When she was in her 16th year she returned to the UK to pursue her studies and was enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. While in college she was a member of the college debate society Cambridge Union where she became the first foreign and third female president. Her graduation was in 1972 and she earned the degree of Master's in Economics. Following after graduation she worked as a journalist and TV host. Also, with Bernard Levin she appeared on an episode of Face the music.
